the world famous Adam's World children's video series, what some call the "Muslim
Sesame Street"
This video is ideal for children between the ages of 2 and 9. It teaches Islamic
values in a fun and lively way that is almost sure to keep kids watching. Adam
is a friend to children, someone who they can relate to and learn from. This
first video features a wide range of concepts about Islam and Muslims.
Adam's World 12:
In the Quran, God mentions some ways in which all humans differ, including the
color of our skins and the differences in our languages. These are considered
signs of Allah’s power and creativity. But sometimes, instead of celebrating
these differences, some of us use them to cause conflict and friction.
In “Assalamu Alaikum,” Aneesah and Adam learn the beauty of diversity.
Through the program’s hallmark songs and skits, children learn how to accept
differences as a gift from our Creator.
Giving a little, working together, the Arabic letter ‘ra’ and the word ‘Rasoolullah,’
a visit to Mali and an introduction to Africa’s Islamic heritage are also
among the topics presented. In addition, children will also learn the connection
of efforts and reliance on God (Tawakkul) with the stories of Moses, Mary and
Muhammad, peace be upon them all.
Artist Dawud Wharnsby Ali, comedian Preacher Moss and a teacher Malikah Muhammad
team up with Adam and Aneesah in this video.
Anyone who cares about children learning respect for diversity and working with
differences in a positive way must buy this video.
