About the
Author
Muhammad Mojlum Khan studied classical Arabic and traditional Islamic
sciences at dar al-uloom (Islamic seminary), and was awarded a degree in
Business and Social Policy by the University of East Anglia. A former president
of a university Islamic society and executive member of Federation of Students
Islamic Societies’ in UK and Eire (FOSIS), the author is a literary critic,
prolific writer, publisher and also a researcher in Islamic thought and history.
He has published over 100 essays and articles on Islam, comparative religion,
contemporary thought and current affairs, and has been a regular contributor to
the leading British Muslim newspaper The Muslim News since he was nineteen. A
recipient of two national and one international prize’s for his essays on Islam,
the author is an Imam to HM Prison Service and a regular commentator/contributor
on local BBC Radio. He is lives in East Anglia (United Kingdom) with his wife
and two young sons. His other publications include Exploring Young Muslims’
Views (2007), Against the Tide: Thoughts on Islam and Contemporary Issues
(forthcoming) and Influential Muslims: An Introduction to their Life,
